COLEEN KING
President

As president and founder of King Media, Coleen has been executing marketing strategies for diverse clientele including Lexus, Toyota, Art Van Furniture, Dodge, Kellogg, Meijer, Spartan Stores, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Best Buy, Circuit City, ABC Warehouse, Subway, and Culligan Water for over 27 years in marketing, advertising, and public relations successes. Her achievements in these endeavors has demanded effective brand management, increasing market share, and ensuring steady profit and growth.

Since King Media's founding in 1999, she has brought her expertise in marketing, advertising and public relations from the Lansing, Michigan area to the regional and national level, consistently providing clients with a reliable source of in-depth market analysis and research. Spanning nearly three decades, Ms. King's career began in Chicago, Illinois as a national representative at the prestigious National Rep Firm of Avery-Knodel Television. Key clients she held were Kellogg, Proctor & Gamble, Sears, Lever Brothers, and the American Dairy Association. She negotiated with the world's largest ad agencies on behalf of her clients. Media buying, account management, creative development, strategic planning, product branding, brand introduction, and developing test markets by region across the nation for new brand and product introductions were many initiatives she executed for her clients during her tenure at Avery-Knodel.

Ms. King is an expert in media strategies, negotiations, placement and securing value added services for her clients. She is proficient in brand development, strategic planning, and developing recruitment campaigns in an increasingly challenging Michigan Market targeting qualified candidates effectively and efficiently. Ms. King continues to be the lead creative mind and works closely with clients to provide them with a broad range of creative and cost effective marketing solutions that assist clients in not only meeting, but exceeding sales, growth, and marketing objectives. Her community service work includes founding and organizing the Michigan chapters for the National Kidney Foundation and spearheading the Lansing Educational Advancement Foundation's Spring Spectacular where all proceeds raised were allocated to the Advancement of the Arts for the four schools within the Lansing School District. Additional organizations Ms. King supports are the Women's American Heart Association and the Greater Lansing Food Bank. She was also instrumental in gaining awareness to drive future legislation for Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Ms. King has been most recently nominated by the Lansing State Journal for the 2008 Women of the Year, nominated for the 14th Annual Entrepreneurial Awards of Greater Lansing for 2008, and nominated by the Grand Rapids Business Journal for the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Central Great Lakes Region. She has been included in 2007 Strathmore's Who's Who, a registry and Global Network honoring outstanding professionals in the fields of Business, the Arts & Sciences, Law, Engineering, and Government. Ms. King has a B.A. in Communications and a Marketing Minor from Michigan State University.

ANGIE MONROE
Director of Operations

Angie Monroe is the Director of Operations for King Media, providing service for corporate and political clients. She is proficient in strategic development, creative development, collateral customization, and providing project management services for many of King Media’s accounts. Angie is involved in all aspects of media placement, account management, strategic planning, brand development, development of promotional pieces and professional collateral, client support, client relations, project coordination, media relations, research, as well as developing multifaceted marketing and public relations campaigns. She delivers for corporate, association, and non-profit clients.

In addition, Angie has more than 13 years experience in corporate communications, advertising, marketing and public relations. Her expertise lies in development of strategic business, marketing and public relations plans that help companies build their brand, increase revenue, and establish solid reputations with their target audiences. Before joining the King Media team Angie has spent her career as an Executive Coordinator to the President of Young Broadcasting Inc. She managed both local and national accounts, managed corporate communications, technical and organizational needs, and provided corporate management services for Young Broadcasting, the world’s largest broadcasting group.

 

HILLARY MYERS
Senior Account Director

Hillary Myers as Senior Account Director, adds her expertise and passion for strategic planning, development, and execution to the King Media team. Guiding clients in creating effective marketing plans, directing creative concepts and executing forward thinking campaigns are tremendous resources Hillary brings to our clients at King Media.

Hillary's has extensive outdoor advertising experience and industry knowledge as a former representative of Adams Outdoor Advertising. Her knowledge in outdoor has proven to provide Hillary as a valuable resource to our clients. She is a regional expert on outdoor strategy, creative development, placement strategies, rate of capture, and outdoor media negotiations.

Adams Outdoor Advertising is one of the region's premier outdoor advertising companies offering cutting edge outdoor technology adding depth to the country's most historic and effective form of marketing. Hillary's vast knowledge of the Outdoor Advertising landscape in the region, includes an intimate knowledge of the entire competitive outdoor inventory. The region's outdoor inventory includes over 4,000 outdoor structures throughout Michigan. Clients such as Soaring Eagle Casino, Budweiser, Seven Eleven, Art Van Furniture, Discount Tire, Blue Chip Casino, Starbucks, Beaners, Jackson National Life, Capital City Airport, and State Farm are some of many clients who trusted their brand and outdoor marketing strategy with Hillary.

Prior to joining the King Media team, Hillary's career was spent in the Telecom industry primarily devoted to sales and marketing. She is well versed in aligning internal and external Sales & Marketing strategies for optimal effectiveness and efficiency. She also specializes in Internet marketing, public relations, project management, sales training, and strategic partnerships. She oversaw implementing campaigns centered by direct mail and supported by mediums such as outdoor, television, E-marketing, radio, and grass roots efforts to increase response and conversion rates. A Northwood University graduate, Hillary has a B.A. in Business Administration and a Minor in International Business.

Graphic & Web Designer

Brandon's strong commitment for creative innovation and client satisfaction is a welcome addition to the King Media team. He strives to develop fresh and exciting ideas offering our clients an added edge in today's ever-changing need for superior advertising and marketing design solutions.

Brandon manages each and every project as a new experience which allows him to express his creativity and implement fresh concepts and techniques in the process. Brandon is quick to realize that all clients are unique and strives to exceed expectations for each and every King Media client. His main priority for each project is to ensure King Media clients receive the highest level of quality, satisfaction, and results. From Brand Strategies to Corporate Identities to Websites and everything in between, Brandon provides our clients with their graphic and web design needs.

Brandon is proficient in industry standard design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, and After Effects. Brandon uses his design abilities to create cutting-edge web and graphic design with an emphasis on primary purpose, target audience, user interface, functionality, originality, and aesthetic appeal. Although designing is his favorite past time, Brandon's love for photography keeps him busy trying to capture unique and interesting imagery which he often tries to incorporate into his projects. Brandon is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a concentration in graphic design and art history.

DANA NIELSEN
Internal Support Coordinator

As an Internal Support Coordinator for King Media, Dana assists in event planning, project management, project quality control, client satisfaction, and other general administrative duties. Dana looks forward to applying her experience and building her Marketing and Advertising knowledge to provide King Media clients with consistency in accuracy for the many services provided by King Media. You will find Dana working side-by-side with the creative staff to get the story boards out the door and putting together the last piece of the presentation to ensure our team can continue to 'WOW' the client and maximize results. King Media works together on each project, doing whatever it takes to produce that award winning piece.

 

 

LIBBY OTIS
Event Coordinator

The King Media Event Planning Staff is lead by Libby Otis, a political consultant, fundraiser, and meeting and convention planner, with a long and reputable career that includes clients at the regional and national level. Libby's work as an attorney introduced her to the political arena where she focused on event planning and fundraising, while working closely with such notables as former President Ronald Regan and former First Lady Elizabeth Dole. Libby's impressive resume includes having planned events for Elizabeth Dole, coordinating the 50 year celebration of the United States Air Force Association, assisted with advance work for the 1980 Ronald Regan Presidential Campaign and works as a liaison for the Republican National Convention, Detroit. In addition to her event planning experience, Libby's fundraising successes include raising more than $1.8 million in less than 10 months for the Jack Lousma for United States Senate Committee.

The King Media Strategic Planning team works to outline the long term goal for each client by reviewing your company's history and devising a project plan for growth and development that will fit the distinct needs of each client. By working directly with each client the team can identify preliminary goals and create a long term strategic plan with measurable results.

 

GRAPHIC DESIGN TEAM

The King Media Graphic Design team is highly accredited with experience in professional graphic design, digital media design (ie: web design, video production, animation), advertising, and most recently, Internet marketing experience. With teamwork, King Media has the ability to effectively create and implement concept, design, and brand development. With strengths in creative designs, King Media has the capability of establishing, building, and producing innovative approaches year after year.

RESEARCH TEAM

A foremost collaborator since its founding, Don Holecek currently works as the company consultant for Michigan tourism. In addition, Holecek serves on the Graduate Committee of the Department of Park, Recreation, and Tourism for Michigan State University. Over the last 18 years, he has also been the Director of MSU’s Travel, Tourism and Recreation Resource Center. Since originally joining the University in 1972, Dr. Holecek has conducted a wealth of research in the general area of tourism economics & marketing and also consulted the Illinois Department of Conservation, Pennsylvania State University, the Mackinac Island State Park Commission and the University of Michigan’s Department of Commerce (Travel Bureau). Dr. Holecek is a valuable member of the King Media team.
