As President and founder of King Media, Coleen has been executing marketing strategies for diverse clientele including Jackson National Life, GreenStone Farm Credit Services, Williams Auto World, Chewelah Casino, Two Rivers Casino, Lexus, Toyota, Art Van Furniture, Dodge, Meijer, Spartan Stores, Chevrolet, Cadillac, City of Lansing, Michigan State University, Michigan Association of Counties, Best Buy, Circuit City, ABC Warehouse, and Subway for over 29 years in marketing, advertising, and public relations. Her achievements in these endeavors have demanded effective brand management, increasing market share, and ensuring steady profit and growth. Since founding King Media in 1999, she has brought her industry expertise from the Lansing, Michigan area to the regional and national level, consistently providing clients with a reliable source of in-depth market savvy and analysis.

Ms. King’s career began in Chicago, Illinois as a national representative at the prestigious National Rep Firm of Avery-Knodel Television nearly three decades ago. Key clients she held were Kellogg, Proctor & Gamble, Sears, Lever Brothers, and the American Dairy Association. She negotiated with the nation’s largest ad agencies on behalf of her clients. She was responsible for media buying, account management, creative development and strategic planning. She also handled initiatives in product branding and brand introduction and developed test markets by region across the nation for new brand and product introductions during her tenure at Avery-Knodel.

Ms. King is an expert in media strategies, negotiations, placement and securing value adding services for her clients. She is proficient in brand development, strategic planning, and developing recruitment campaigns in an increasingly challenging economic climate. By targeting qualified candidates effectively and efficiently, Ms. King continues to be the lead creative mind and works closely with clients to provide them with a broad range of creative and cost effective marketing solutions that assist clients in meeting and exceeding sales, growth, and marketing objectives.

Her community service work includes founding and organizing the Michigan chapters for the National Kidney Foundation. She also spearheaded the Lansing Educational Advancement Foundation’s Spring Spectacular, where all proceeds raised were allocated to the Advancement of the Arts for four schools within the School District. Ms. King also supports organizations such as the Women’s American Heart Association and the Greater Lansing Food Bank. She was also instrumental in gaining awareness to drive future legislation for Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Ms. King has been most recently nominated by the Lansing State Journal for the 2008 Women of the Year, nominated for the 14th Annual Entrepreneurial Awards of Greater Lansing for 2008, and nominated by the Grand Rapids Business Journal for the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Central Great Lakes Region.

Ms. King has also been invited as an industry expert guest speaker for a variety of associations in 2009. Among these associations are the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Boating Industries Association, the Lansing Technology and Innovation Center, the National Association of Career Women, the National Exchange Club: Michigan Chapter and the Internal Countertop Expo (ICE) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ms. King spoke on subjects including strategic brand development, website design and development and digital brand development and marketing.
